Assistant Director/Lead Attorney/Associate Attorney

The Wyoming Children’s Law Center (the Center) is hiring two full-time attorneys (part-time and flexible work schedules are also possible).  The Center seeks one attorney with 10 or more years of experience, preferably in the areas of education rights, child welfare or juvenile justice.  The second attorney position does not require prior legal experience.  The Center will provide training in education rights, child welfare, juvenile justice, and related area of law. 

The successful applicants will deliver direct legal services and policy advocacy; and assist in the development and implementation of projects and programs aligned with the Center’s goals of empowering Wyoming families; providing high quality representation in cases involving a child’s health, safety or education, (focusing particularly on youth in confinement, or involving juvenile justice, child welfare and special education issues); and working for system-level changes that improve outcomes for children involved in court.

Youth Justice Coalition Coordinator

The Youth Justice Coalition Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation of youth, parent, and adult engagement in coalition efforts and coordination of special projects. Other Duties include but are not limited to:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Supervision of youth volunteers.

·        Engages community youth, parents, and adult youth worker/volunteers in coalition efforts.

·        Develops, schedules, plans, prepares for, and facilitates youth, parent, and adult youth worker/volunteer meetings, project groups and activities

·        Produces and maintains youth, parent, and adult youth worker/volunteer engagement records and evaluation documents

·        Reports youth, parent, and adult youth worker/volunteer engagement data and progress to Director and committees as requested

·        Conducts speaking engagements and workshops as requested by Director and community groups.

·        Produces quarterly itemized category financial report for use in grantors reports.

·        Assists Director in production of budgets and fiscal monitoring and planning

·        Creates other documents as requested

·        Provides staff support to committees and project groups as requested

·        Maintains the current filing system and keeps the system up to date

·        Mails meeting minutes and reminders, newsletters, and other written communications

·        Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·        Supervisor experience.

·        Ability to work independently as well as be a strong and effective team member.

·        Great communication skills, both written and spoken.

·        Operation of Microsoft programs.

·        Presentation experience

·        Able to manage self.

Administrative Secretary

This position will provide assistance to the entire staff of the Wyoming Children’s Law Center (the Center) in collaboration with the Office Manager and the Director.  The successful applicant will deliver service aligned with the Center’s mission and goals. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Aid in organizing & maintaining the office system.

·        Handle intakes and other calls.

·        Schedule staff appointments and maintain calendars

·        Collate, scan, file & distribute mail

·        Aid in managing cases and building case files

·        Other jobs may be added as office grows

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·        Experience and knowledge with basic secretary work.

·        Ability to work independently as well as be a strong and effective team member.

·        Great communication skills, both written and spoken.

·        Operation of Microsoft programs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·        Understanding of the operations of Microsoft programs.

·        Experience in answering phones

·        Able to manage time.
